Like every gamer, Nick started out in his mom’s basement, wrecking every noob that he encountered online.  The year was 2012 and that basement was the place where all his friends wanted to be.  Everyone wanted a shot at Nick’s greatness and he accepted every challenge with open arms.  More and more of his friends started to join in the fun.  Then those friends started bringing their friends and before he knew it…the basement was packed full every night of young hungry gamers.  Nick soon realized that the electric bill was getting out of hand so he started asking his friends to contribute to the cause.  Everyone loved gaming there so much and didn’t want the fun to end so they were happy to help out.  It was at this moment that would change Nick’s life forever.  He loves playing games, sure,  but that wasn’t enough for him.  What he craved most of all was family and community.

          In 2013 he took a leap of faith and just like that, Paul’s Gamerzone was created.  Of course, he couldn’t stay in his mom’s basement any longer.  So he packed up his gear and moved into his first store location on Lincoln Way E.  His business was a huge success!  Everything everyone loved about Nick’s basement was now available to the public and the community started to grow.  There was more to it then just video games.  He also loved playing TCG’s like Pokemon and Magic the Gathering.  With his business growing, his girlfriend Zara at his side, he sought out to be the biggest and best gaming lounge and card shop in the area. 

          Fast forward to 2017, his business wasn’t the only thing growing.  Nick and his now fiance, Zara, were growing as a family and they brought little man Oliver into the world!  With his chin held high, he was determined build and grow the business into something his son and best friend could be proud of.  With hopes that one day he could pass the torch to Oliver to continue the family driven business that we all know and love today.  In order to do this, he knew it was time for a change.  In a twist of fate, a newer and larger location opened up across the street from his current spot.

          In 2019, without hesitation, he jumped at the opportunity and made the move.  But he had to do it fast before it was too late.  Fortunately, having the support and love of the community he created, the move happened over night.  Everyone was excited to help out by grabbing a handful of things and simply walked it across the street.  It looked like an ant army with dozens of supporters walking back and forth until the job was done.

          When Covid-19 hit, like most business’, he started to struggle.  But that wasn’t enough to slow him down.  He made a promise years ago to always have a home for everyone with affordable prices.  Here we are now at the coat tails of 2022 and Nick’s still going strong and he’s held true to his word.  Not once in the decade he’s been in business has he raised his prices. 

         Paul’s Gamerzone continues to be a staple of the community and he’s excited each and every day to work hard and make sure everyone has the best experience possible.   Trust me when I say, Nick is no where close to finished.  If you haven’t been into the Gamerzone yet, YOU’RE MISSING OUT!  You absolutely have to come check it out.  There’s something for everyone and endless fun to be had.  The entire Paul family is excited to meet you and welcome you into the ever growing community.  LET THE PLAYERS BE KNOWN!
